Great and well written piece.

A question that arises after reading the piece, how do we motivate youth to practice farming? I think by doing so we might try to create more employment opportunities for a large proportioon of unemployed kenyans.

However, the supply chain of agricultural products still remain dominated with corrupt individuals and corrupt government agencies. For example, KTDA which is responsible of exporting tea , has been accussed of corruption thus causing dissatisfaction to many farmers who feel they are being paid peanuts for their tea produce! The farmers are then subjected to strikes and protests and others burning tea factories , for instance in Meru.

My thinking is, for more youth to participate in agriculture sector, we need to ensure that the governement is holding accountable all stakeholders involved in the agriculture supply chain to ensure the farmer gets good returns on their produce. #YouthHustle #YouthInAgriculture.
