What an insight!! I cannot add more on to this but just to appreciate your thinking umair haque. I do believe that human element has been the epicentre of these world economic challenges moreso climate change. Linking this with “economic paradigm” of maximising immediate income without caring about life, then a whole feedback of problems such as famine, drought, flooding will be formed. For example, a chemical manufacturing company disposes its sewage to the nearest river to avoid incurring costs of transporting the sewage to the designated sewage treatment centres. Immediate effect is, the company cuts costs and increase income. People who depends on that river’s water, dies due to waterborne infections and no one cares since “economic paradigm” doesn’t care about life. I support this claim that , life in its well-being element is not fully appreciated at all in this economic paradigm. cc Nolita Thina Mvunelo Dancan Angwenyi LWOS Vusi Thembekwayo(check this great article)
